Retrospective

In 1919, Henri GERDIL, then retired forest service officer, started a forest appraisal business in order to evaluate World War I damages on forests in France. His business which rapidly turned into forest appraisal and management became taken over and considerably extended thereafter by his nephew, Charles CHAVET a Nancy forestry school graduate who had already started his own forestry business.

In 1984,Charles CHAVET’s sons decided to make two separate offices. Michel CHAVET’s forestry consulting office is being described next.
